- Apparently the working name for the prototype is the "Walker". Hmm..
-
- But there is more to this than meets the eye. People have been bitching about the
- EC030/40, I agree somewhat. But there are a few things that are included (or are
- expected to be) that people haven't mentioned:
-
- 1. It has an additional parallel port, bidirectional (ParNet?)
-
- 2. High speed serial port, and MIDI capable.
-
- 3. PC HD Floppy controller, so we get high-density back.
-
- 4. The slot inside is a CPU slot.
-
- 5. Additional stackable units can be added to it, to add only the expansion
- you need. Build a tower, or whatever.
-
- This is apparently in the prototype, soon to be shown. I have heard rumor one of the things
- included in 3.2 is some sort of networking support, and this seems to be supported by someone
- adding a parallel port (usable for networking with a Parnet cable). Why else would you use
- 2 parallel ports?
-
- Most of this is quoted from Michael Metz, in a post on Compuserve.
